I was recently asked this question.
Veronica says “one pressing challenge is how to engage with my sphere of influence on Facebook. What is an effective way to keep top of mind without pushing listings”
The best way to stay “top of mind” is to actually BE there.

Hi, I’m Christina Ethridge with Leads and Leverage and I help real estate agents sell more houses using Facebook.
Today’s question comes from Veronica, from our Facebook for Real Estate Agents group.
Veronica says, “one pressing challenge is how to engage with my sphere of influence on Facebook. What is an effective way to keep top of mind without pushing listings?”
Well Veronica, you’re going to want to make sure that you’re using your personal profile for your sphere of influence. For people that you already know, that you already have a relationship with, you need to use your personal profile.
And how do you stay top of mind without pushing listings? Because you do not want to push listings on your personal profile.
This is how you do it…you engage.
You share pieces of you, every day, funny things, funny thoughts and don’t just find stuff that’s already done.
Like, take pictures of things you’re doing, ask questions, ask for recommendations, all on your personal profile.
And then, dedicate some time every single day to going through your newsfeed and connecting with other people.
Meaning, the people that have posted… engage with them. Comment on their child’s baptism, or comment on their son’s graduation, or comment on their parent’s wedding anniversary. Or comment on… maybe they have somebody that is in the hospital.
Better yet, take a step forward and help more. Take that relationship deeper face to face.
If somebody is in the hospital, find out a way to just go and deliver a plant, or a flower, or a balloon. Maybe not to the person in the hospital if you don’t know them, but to the person who, like maybe it’s the sibling whose parent is in the hospital, maybe it’s a parent whose kid is in the hospital, whatever it is, find a way to engage and to help and be a part of somebody’s life.
Use Facebook to connect with people and share pieces of you, so people can get to know you better, so they can resonate more with you, they can engage with you more and you also engage.
That is how you stay top of mind. You engage with people both on your profile and on their profile.
So you need to spend some time. And it’s okay to schedule it. You need to schedule it. Just like you write down everybody’s birthdays on your calendar so you don’t forget. You need to schedule this, so you don’t forget to do this every single day.
Veronica, you’ve got this.
