Recently, I was watching a conversation on Facebook about real estate agents using Facebook to market themselves.
During the course of the conversation, this was said:
“…another reason why a Facebook page is close to the last thing a REALTOR should use to market themselves.”
My question for you is, do you share this belief?
Well… do you?
Let’s get a couple of things clarified. First of all, there is a vast different between marketing and lead generating. VAST.
Marketing is about pushing your brand out to the public.
Lead generating is about pulling the public into your fold (aka database).
Big difference. HUGE.
It’s really that simple.
Now, with that simplicity, comes the hard stuff.
Marketing is about using your Facebook page as a place to “build your brand.” It’s about using Facebook to advertise (aka push) your listings out to the public. It’s about getting as many people to “like” your Facebook page as possible.
None of these are “wrong” per se, they’re just wrong.
Wait. What?
Yeah, here’s the deal. Name recognition, advertising your listings and creating a community are not wrong.
Focusing on them as your “reason for marketing on Facebook” IS.
None of these can be achieved by simply focusing on using Facebook for marketing your real estate services.
Really, they can’t.
You must focus on a solid, trackable, ROI. You must build your page strategically. You must be focused on the marathon, not the sprint. It’s about consistency. It’s about strategy.
